From a conversation to a task you can act on
A meeting summary and a task list have different jobs. The summary explains what happened; a reminder needs a clear next action. Tagalong can extract action items during background processing, but you should review the result before creating tasks elsewhere.
This walkthrough describes Tagalong 3.4.1, checked against the released app’s task-export implementation on September 5, 2026. The example is fictional. It is not evidence of a live export to a customer’s account.
Review the task before sending it
Suppose a fictional meeting includes: “Maya will sketch the first-run wireframes before Friday’s review.” Check the extracted action against the source before exporting.

AI extraction can miss tasks or infer the wrong owner. The reviewed source, rather than the generated checklist alone, should guide your follow-up.
Send selected items to Apple Reminders
- Open the saved meeting and review its action items. Task export requires Pro or a Private License.
- Open the task export control and choose Apple Reminders. The destination sheet is labeled Send action items.
- If prompted, choose Allow Reminders access and approve the macOS permission. If access was denied, enable Tagalong in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders, then check again.
- Choose an existing Reminders list, or use Meeting Action Items (create if needed). Confirm the list and account shown are the ones you intend.
- Review the selected tasks and send them. Open Apple Reminders to confirm the new items and any dates before relying on notifications.
Reading a meeting does not itself grant Reminders access or send its tasks. List availability depends on the accounts and permissions configured on your Mac.
Understand exactly which fields are exported

If a reminder lacks a due date, set one in Reminders. Do not treat an extracted phrase such as “next week” as proof that a notification was scheduled.
What changes after export
The reminder and Tagalong task are separate records. Completing a reminder does not complete the item in Tagalong. Editing the original task does not update the exported reminder. Sending the same task again can create another item; inspect the destination before retrying an uncertain export.
The Reminders app can sync its lists through the account you configured, such as iCloud. That is Reminders’ account behavior, not two-way synchronization with Tagalong.

These destinations are present in the public 3.4.1 implementation. This guide does not claim a live account test for each service. Permissions, destination access, and third-party service responses can affect an export. Check the confirmation and resulting task.
Where the information goes
Task extraction uses AI processing; selected task data then goes to the destination you choose. For Reminders, the app writes through macOS and your configured Reminders account controls subsequent syncing. For remote task services, selected fields are sent to that service.

Questions & answers
Are reminders created automatically after every meeting?
No. Extraction can run during post-meeting processing, but export requires you to select tasks and send them. Opening a meeting does not itself request Reminders permission.
Will a phrase such as ‘by Friday’ create a due date?
Do not assume so. Tagalong distinguishes a natural-language due hint from a structured due date. Apple Reminders receives a due date only when the task has a structured date. Check the result and set the date in Reminders if needed.
Does a task assignee become a shared-list assignment?
No. The current Apple Reminders export adds the assignee name to the reminder’s notes. It does not assign an Apple account to the reminder.
Is task export included in Free?
Task export is a paid feature in Tagalong. Free includes five meetings per month, microphone recording, basic summaries, Markdown export, and speaker editing.
