These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Tagalong, a native macOS application for meeting recording, transcription, and AI-powered summary generation ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By using Tagalong, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 14.
Tagalong provides the following capabilities:
The App runs natively on macOS and processes data either locally or through third-party AI services, depending on your licensing mode.
Tagalong is available under two licensing modes:

Without a license or subscription, you may use Tagalong with limited functionality: microphone-only recording, basic summaries, markdown export, and speaker editing. The free tier is limited to 5 meetings per calendar month.
Private License purchases include a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with the App for any reason, you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase by contacting legal@tagalongai.com. No questions asked.
Subscription fees are non-refundable for partial months. When you cancel a subscription, you retain access to Pro features through the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.
By using Tagalong, you agree to:
Private License users are responsible for their own API costs.
When using Private License mode, all API calls to OpenAI, AssemblyAI, and Google Gemini are made using your own API keys and billed directly to your accounts with those providers. Tagalong does not control, subsidize, or take responsibility for these costs. You should review the pricing pages of each provider and monitor your usage.
Subscription users have API costs included in their monthly fee. Fair usage policies may apply.
You own your data. All recordings, transcripts, summaries, infographics, and meeting notes generated by Tagalong are your property. We claim no ownership or license over your content. You are free to use, share, modify, or delete your outputs as you see fit.
Tagalong, including its source code, design, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of Tagalong and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your license grants you the right to use the App, not to copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute it.
Tagalong uses artificial intelligence to generate transcriptions, summaries, and infographics. While we strive for accuracy:

Tagalong depends on third-party AI services. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to transcription, summarization, diarization, or infographic features. Service interruptions may occur due to:
Core local functionality (recording, file storage, markdown export) does not depend on network access.
You may stop using Tagalong at any time by uninstalling the App. Subscription users should cancel their subscription before uninstalling to prevent future charges.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App if you:
Where possible, we will provide notice before termination. In the case of Private License users, termination disables license validation but does not affect locally stored data.
Your use of Tagalong is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how your data is handled across both licensing modes. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in San Jose, California.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Tagalong regarding the use of the App, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
