New ways to stay in the conversation, plus the fixes and refinements that keep your meetings moving.
3.3.1
Latest
Quieter keychain
Tagalong no longer triggers recurring macOS keychain password dialogs. Launch checks stopped reading stored secrets unnecessarily, and leftover items from older versions are now cleaned up automatically — at most one final approval dialog, then silence.
3.3.0
Your Outlook calendar, connected
Version 3.3 connects Tagalong directly to Outlook and Microsoft 365 — and gives you control over exactly which calendars feed your meeting list.
Connect Outlook directly. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 or personal Outlook account from Settings → Calendar. Upcoming meetings appear alongside Apple Calendar events — no macOS account setup required.
Pick your calendars. New dropdowns for both Apple and Outlook calendars choose exactly which ones feed your upcoming meetings — and Tagalong now reads every Outlook calendar in your account, not just the default one.
Connect Apple Calendar from Settings. Grant calendar access right in the Calendar section, with a direct path to System Settings if access was previously turned off.
Clearer guidance when your workplace requires approval. If your organization gates new apps behind IT review, Tagalong now explains what happened in plain language and provides the approval link to send your admin.
3.2.0
Stay in the meeting, on your terms
Version 3.2 adds more control while you record, makes the library easier to navigate, and smooths out several important workflows.
Mute yourself. Silence your microphone with one click or ⌘⇧M while Tagalong keeps capturing the meeting audio and maintaining a continuous transcript timeline. Muting never triggers silence detection or auto-stop.
The Visual Notes gallery is back. Browse every visual note in a searchable thumbnail grid and open a full-size preview in the app.
Click to rename. Edit meeting names in place from the recording view, meeting page, sidebar, or Home. Click away to save, or press Esc to cancel.
Manage your subscription. Open the Stripe customer billing portal from Settings to update your payment method or cancel.
Know what is recording. Microphone menus show each device’s actual name, keep the list current, and mark the active input with a check.
Connect a Microsoft 365 calendar. Settings explains how to add an Exchange account through Internet Accounts, including the administrator approval some workplaces require. A more direct Outlook connection is coming in a future update.
Ask questions mid-meeting with confidence. A second live question no longer risks freezing Tagalong, answers update smoothly, and clearing a response while it arrives is safe. Post-meeting chat gets the same steadier behavior.
Join Zoom calls without audio getting stuck. Tagalong waits until the call is ready before connecting to meeting audio, steps aside while meeting apps or audio devices start, and reconnects automatically afterward.
A smoother first recording. New subscribers are no longer asked for setup they do not need. Live transcription works in the first session, Conference Mode is the default for Pro, permissions appear at the right time, and the menu bar icon shows reliably.
Large and cloud-stored imports stay responsive. Preparing speaker previews and saving transcripts no longer blocks the window, cloud downloads show progress, and imported audio keeps a dependable playback option.
Save Audio remembers your choice. The setting persists after relaunching, and Tagalong deletes a recording only after its transcript has been safely saved.
3.1.1
Reliable post-meeting processing
Recordings no longer finish with an empty transcript when a sign-in quietly expires. Tagalong refreshes access before processing, shows a retry when something truly fails, and repairs affected meetings when you open them without losing their notes, summary, or original date. Uploads retry dropped connections, and cloud-stored recordings are handled more safely.
3.1.0
A real meeting notepad
A continuous rich-text notepad with familiar formatting, lists, checklists, headings, links, and keyboard shortcuts.
Ambient timestamps connect notes to the moment they were written.
Enhance My Notes rewrites and expands the full document while preserving exactly what you wrote for comparison or a full revert.
Visual Notes gained a page-turning sketchbook view for browsing by month in this release.
Conference recordings show both sides live, with a pre-flight check so you know the meeting is being captured.
Typing stays on the right line, the title bar follows your appearance setting, and valid notes enhance reliably.
3.0.0
Instant, on-device live transcription
Live words appear as you speak using on-device recognition, even offline, with live meeting audio staying on your Mac.
A truthful scrolling waveform and split conference meters show whether your voice and meeting audio are being captured.
Automatic action items arrive with owners and priorities, ready for Reminders, Todoist, or the clipboard.
Summaries put a short overview and decisions first, with topic links into the details.
Consistent speaker colors, avatars, talk-time views, search stepping, and clickable playback make transcripts easier to follow.
First-run setup, the free-tier meter, checkout, and conference checks were rebuilt, with newer AI behind summaries, speaker identification, and Visual Notes.
2.5.3
Visual Note generation restored
Visual Note generation works again after its previous image option was retired, with the same styles, palettes, and aspect ratios.
2.5.2
Privacy, update, and audio safeguards
Pause now records nothing, downloaded updates are checked before installation, and saved Slack and Notion credentials receive stronger protection. Microphone changes stay in sync, save failures show a warning, cloud-stored recordings open reliably, and one meeting's text can no longer appear in the next.
2.5.1
Long-meeting reliability
Long conference meetings finish without freezing, interrupted work no longer leaves broken playback behind, and speaker identification shows clear progress instead of spinning forever. Large imports also stay responsive.
2.5.0
Cleaner, safer conference audio
Recurring meetings never overwrite one another, even when their names match.
Your microphone and remote participants are captured separately for clearer, echo-free playback.
Speaker previews play the participant you selected instead of sound leaking through your microphone.
2.3.1
Meeting reminders and recording controls
Fixed meeting notifications and silence auto-stop, then expanded the menu-bar quick menu with meeting context, Settings, recordings-folder access, and one-click recording.
2.3.0
Cleaner recordings
Conference audio loses its scratchy background roughness, loud voices sound natural instead of harsh, and switching microphones or connecting AirPods no longer garbles, pitch-shifts, or clicks through part of a meeting.
2.2.x
Smoother recording and device switching
Recording became faster and steadier, with background saving that reduces glitches.
Tagalong falls back to the built-in microphone when AirPods cannot provide an input and no longer freezes when devices change mid-recording.
A visible countdown makes prolonged silence clear, and the microphone selector works reliably during meetings.
